Queries/Research(Pictures)

Bill Crumbleholme's Website contains pages with images and explanations of his recent activities and pottery.

Bill  is a potter with an interest in ancient pottery, especially the Dorset Black Burnished Ware. In 2003 he worked on the Bestwall site near Wareham, where kilns were being excavated ahead of the gravel extraction. Two Roman kilns were rebuilt and fired with loads of pots made by Bill and the archaeologists on site.

Artyfacts, his current project, is associated with the Dorset County Museum, exploring their collections from an artistic viewpoint. http://www.raftdorset.info/artyfacts

"In the last few years Bill has been researching the local Celtic Iron Age technique known as Black Burnished Ware. He is making replica pieces and also developing an interpretation producing contemporary pieces inspired by his investigations." The image on this page is a sample of Bill's work."  On his website Bill gives a brief overview of BB1. I would welcome members observations on Bill's website and its' contents.
