The John Gillam Prize

The annual John Gillam Prize, established in 2004, honours a key founder of our Group for his tremendous contribution to the subject. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2011 award. A wide range of work on pottery found in Roman Britain is eligible, including pottery reports (both published and grey literature), synthetic studies, websites, student dissertations, theses etc that were completed within the last two years. Please send your nominations to the Gillam Committee, consisting of the President and Publication Committee at bibliography@sgrp.org.uk. It is normally the responsibility of the nominator to make available a copy of the nominated work, but please email before sending the publication as in some cases it may not be necessary. Nominations are open until the 11th of April 2011 and the winner will be announced at our annual Conference in Amsterdam, between the Fri 24th and 26th of June 2011.
